The Tennessee Community College Student of the Year is Pellissippi State’s Louis Rey Valenzuela! 🎉 Presented each year by @collegesystemtn, this award recognizes one student from more than a dozen member community colleges who exhibits outstanding academic accomplishment and exemplary service to their college. Valenzuela came to Pellissippi State after more than 10 years in the workforce. Since then, he has taken on leadership roles in student government, the Pellissippi State Leadership Institute, and the Tennessee Intercollegiate State Legislature. He has also served as president of both Pellissippi’s @skillsusa chapter and the statewide chapter, all while balancing full-time work and fatherhood.
