#JSUGrad26: “Walking across the stage is about more than just earning a degree; it is for my family and the Littles legacy. After losing my brother—a JSU student-athlete—to gun violence and nearly losing my own life in a car accident during my sophomore year, I was forced to overpower my limits mentally and physically. With a paralyzed hand, a broken arm and leg, and the task of learning to walk again, I had every reason to quit. Instead, I chose to keep going. The Physics department became my second family; they didn't just teach me formulas, they supported me when I was struggling with a crutch to get to finals week or writing complex equations with one hand. During my recovery, I balanced physical therapy and a full semester of classes to ensure I would graduate on time with my class. I refused to let my situation limit my potential.
