May 9th will forever be a special day for me—the day I graduate from THEE illustrious Prairie View A&M University with my Bachelor’s of Science in Health 🎓. First and foremost, I give all glory to God for carrying me through this journey, for the strength when I felt weak, and for guiding me every step of the way.
As a first-generation college graduate, this moment means more than words can explain. I did this for my family, but most importantly, I did this for myself. Through every challenge, I kept going, and along the way I built genuine friendships that I’ll cherish for a lifetime.
One scripture that stayed with me throughout this journey is Psalm 46:5 — “God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day.” As a Black woman, this verse speaks deeply to me. It reminds me that even in spaces where I may be underestimated or tested, God’s presence within me is my strength, my resilience, and my foundation. I didn’t get here alone—...
