Laura Dern has joined the cast of the new season of The White Lotus, days after Helena Bonham Carter left the show due to creative differences. Bonham Carter left last week, with makers HBO saying "it had become apparent" that the character written for her by creator Mike White "did not align once on set". The White Lotus is one of the most popular dramas of recent years, having won numerous Emmy Awards, with each season set in a different resort around the world.
