John Sterling is one of the reasons I love baseball. Hearing him call the Yankees in the World Series during long car rides home, when my dad drove us back from his pizza place when I was a kid, are memories I’ll never forget. I’m sure I’m not the only one who thinks this, but after all the years of calling games, it felt like I knew him personally, even though I never actually met him.
