Pellissippi State student Yosef E is one of a select few students participating in the college's new Electrical Engineering Technology Earn and Learn initiative. Under this model, Yosef balances two days of intensive classroom instruction with up to 25 hours a week of hands-on work at his placement with Arconic. Over the past semester, he’s been immersed in projects alongside seasoned Arconic electricians, running electric lines, testing fire alarms and touring the high-voltage yard that powers the entire plant— all while working to earn his associates degree.
