Yesterday was the BEST day of canvassing thus far. (1) I talked to more people than Ring apps. (2) People are now paying attention so there were less blank stares at the doors. (3) One voter ran down the street after me to give me some warm, freshly-baked cookies so I “could keep going.” (4) Many people offered me water (I was sweating) (5) I sat on the porch w/one woman & her dog for 45 minutes as she told me her life story (she's started 7+ businesses!) and (6) Even the people who said they will not vote for me were cordial & told me to “stay safe.” THIS is what a safe & healthy community looks & feels like. #civility #kindnessmatters #people>politics #feelingblessed #creatingcommunityonedooratatime Happy Memorial Day weekend, everyone.
