Across the country, this week is recognized as National Crime Victims’ Rights Week. Throughout my career, I’ve worked with hundreds of victims, but that number pales in comparison to those supported by the incredible Victim Advocates I’ve had the privilege to work alongside. Advocates help survivors navigate the court system, develop safety plans, connect to critical resources, accompany them to court, and ensure their voices are heard when it matters most. Their work is often behind the scenes, but its impact is immeasurable as they provide support to people during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
