Graduation days are hands down some of the best parts of practicing in Las Vegas Municipal Court.
On Thursday, eleven service members graduated from the Veterans Treatment Court. They were honored by a number of area Veterans groups, the Court, and their families for their resilience. Of the graduate speakers, there were shared themes of initially struggling with self doubt and untreated PTSD to thriving with counseling, sobriety, and treatment.
In addition to their certificates of graduation, each graduate was gifted a handmaid quilt by the
#lasvegas chapter of @quiltsofvalorfoundation to serve as a reminder that they have a community standing with them even though they may no longer be actively serving.
With their successful completion of the program, they earn a conditional dismissal of their charges but more importantly they leave reconnected with family, strengthened benefits support through the VA Hospital, and an alumni community ready to support them.
