What is an "aging-ready home?" The National Institute on Aging (NIA), a division of the U.S. government, states the criteria for determining an aging-ready home includes a step-free entryway, a bedroom and full bathroom on the first floor, and at least one bathroom-accessibility feature, such as safety rails or grab bars, or a shower seat. Of the 28.5 million U.S. households with someone age 65 or older, 28% reported difficulty using some aspect of the home. #BCH #BoulderCityHospital #seniorsafety #ageinplace #eldercare
