Jerome’s heartfelt words reminded us just how life-changing it can be when one caring adult shows up — and keeps showing up. “She reminded me constantly that I mattered. That may not sound like a lot, but having someone look you in the eye and say you matter, you are worthy, and you are cared for changes everything."
