New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani said he would encourage King Charles to return the Koh‑i‑Noor diamond if they were to speak privately during the monarch’s visit to the city. 'If I were to speak to the king separately...I would probably encourage him to return the Koh-i-Noor Diamond,' Mamdani, who is an Indian American, said. India has repeatedly demanded that Britain return the 105-carat diamond, which was presented to Queen Victoria in 1850. The diamond, a focus of long‑running disputes over colonial-era artifacts, is set into a British royal crown and is on display at the Tower of London. #nyc #kingcharles #india #kohinoor #mamdani
