The St. Andrew's Society of Toronto was founded on this date in 1836. Scottish immigrants and their descendants came together to support their compatriots that had fallen on hard times. The St. Andrew's Charitable Foundation has continued these good works by raising funds for smaller charities across the GTA. Over $1 million has been donated in the past 15 years.
