The New Orleans Jazz Museum is proud to present a special virtual celebration in honor of International Jazz Day, featuring an exciting collaboration with Vin Scialla and Neel Murgai of Brooklyn Raga Massive.
Born in 2012 out of a weekly jam session in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn Raga Massive has grown from a grassroots gathering into a vital force in New York City’s arts scene. What began as a casual meeting of musicians has evolved into a thriving, inclusive community dedicated to creative exploration and collaboration.
Now a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, the collective includes over 100 artists rooted in South Asian classical music while embracing influences from around the globe. Their work bridges traditions—bringing raga into conversation with sounds from Iraq, Cuba, Morocco, Japan, and beyond—creating bold, innovative musical experiences.
