I’m constantly in the pursuit of making one great photo every time I shoot, and while it obviously doesn’t always happen, it does assure that I’m mentally locked in and trying to create special images. That includes simple events like players walking out to the practice field, something they do nearly every day.
Today I tried to avoid standard “guys walking towards the camera photos” and decided to “pan” - using a slow shutter speed along with moving my camera along thr same plane as them to add a little motion and hopefully make a more dynamic image.
I was fortunate that the always energetic Boye Mafe bounded out of the locker room (conveniently along the plane of my camera) so I could capture this image.
Lastly, I took over 200 frames of players walking out and this was the best frame. In photography, like sports and life, gotta shoot your shots and hope one goes in.
