The helen_balloon_race is always a magical event and they're coming back to Helen for the 53rd annual showing on June 4th, 5th, and 6th. We've attended the balloon race several times in the past and it's remains one of our favorite things to do. While they do launch the balloons for local flights in the mornings and evenings, we highly recommend getting up early and seeing them at sunrise. Watching these colorful hot air balloons take to the skies above a misty Georgia sunrise is a feeling like no other.
