As some of you know, Nonna passed away earlier this year. In addition to being her favorite granddaughter, I was lucky enough to inherit her sense of adventure and love of travel. She encouraged me to study abroad in South Africa and, as an adult, I traveled with her to Australia, New Zealand, Cambodia, Vietnam and Ireland. I cherish our memories of holding a koala, scurrying across the streets in Vietnam to avoid the motorbikes, foamy Guinness mustaches at the Gravity Bar, and, of course, happy hour and card playing. Did I mention we jumped out of a plane together in Christchurch, NZ? I probably have - when you go skydiving with your Nonna that’s not something you keep to yourself (There is video evidence somewhere and I can’t wait to stumble upon it) Using our adventures together as inspiration, I am starting a separate Instagram account and, in the near future, a travel blog to honor this passion that we shared and outlet for my fledgling photography.
