Study Abroad Spotlight: Hong Kong Meet Jaden Ochoa ’27, a history major with a minor in education from San Antonio, Texas, who has been studying abroad in Hong Kong. Jaden is spending the semester at Lingnan University, where he was drawn by the opportunity to experience a completely different culture and environment. Having never left the United States before, studying in Hong Kong felt like a big step and the perfect challenge. He was especially interested in the city’s blend of Eastern and Western influences, as well as Lingnan’s liberal arts focus, which reminded him of Trinity while still offering a unique experience. This semester, Jaden has been taking courses such as Urban History of Hong Kong and The Transmission of East Asian Art, both of which have deepened his understanding of the region’s culture and history.
