🎓 As students prepare to turn their tassels this spring,
#UNLVGrad Trent Smith is ready for what’s next. He’s graduating with a bachelor’s degree in applied health science and hopes to make a difference in the medical field.
Favorite experience as a Rebel: Getting through challenging classes. And he credits some favorite professors for helping him through “It’s hard to name only one. All of my chemistry professors (Dr. Hanqing Pan, Dr. MaryKay Orgil, and Dr. Jennifer Guerra), and my physics professor (Dr. Pratheesh Jakkala).”
Outside of the classroom: He took full advantage of experiential learning opportunities. “I performed clinical research in the emergency department at UMC, publishing my work on a poster about improving patient outcomes in the ER. I volunteered with TIP of Southern Nevada, where I worked alongside emergency services and provided emotional support to survivors of traumatic situations.”
