As #DonateLifeMonth comes to close, we're excited to share Luca’s story and the powerful impact of organ donation. Luca was born with Alveolar Capillary Dysplasia – a rare and usually fatal lung disorder – and received a life-saving lung transplant at 4.5 months old. Now, Luca is almost 10 and loves basketball, playing the drums, and hanging with his siblings and dogs! Luca’s mom says: “For such a hard time and hard diagnosis, the CHOP team was phenomenal. I always say how lucky we are that we live close to CHOP. They are the reason Luca is still with us, and we are so incredibly grateful.”
