In intraoral buccal massage, two principles matter most.
Never overstretch the tissues. Stretching creates folds, not lift.
Always work with a light hand. Many clients already have inflammation in the TMJ. Pressure increases tension and can worsen it.
Chronic inflammation leads to fibrosis. Fibrotic tissue loses elasticity and mobility, which contributes to heaviness and ptosis.
This is esthetic work. The goal is relaxation, tissue health, and visible rejuvenation.
Formula of tissue response:
Excessive pressure → inflammation → fibrosis → ptosis
Gentle, precise work supports the tissue. Aggressive pressure accelerates aging.
