Opening night of The Sound of Music at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre and I’m still smiling ✨ I’ve loved the movie for as long as I can remember, so I was shocked to learn the musical actually came first — premiering on Broadway in 1959, six years before the iconic 1965 film 🎶 And somehow… I had never seen the stage musical before. I loved discovering the differences between the two. Some scenes and songs unfold differently live on stage, and fun fact: “I Have Confidence” and “Something Good” were actually written just for the movie version 🤍 Seeing this story performed live felt so magical and nostalgic all at once.
