Come hike up Mt. Inari ⛩️✨ Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine isn’t just about photos at the entrance, it’s a full mountain hike through thousands of bright red torii gates that wrap around Mount Inari. The trails stretch about 4 km (approx 12,000 steps and 10,000 torii gates) and weave through forests, smaller shrines, and hidden paths donated by individuals and businesses alike. The best part? You can go as far as you want. Many people stop at the halfway viewpoint, Yotsutsuji, for sweeping views of Kyoto, but you can also continue to the summit for a peaceful, almost meditative walk. The full round trip usually takes 2–3 hours, and there’s no entrance fee.
