I’ll never forget sitting in a wheelchair at my girls high school graduation because lupus had taken so much from my body at the time. And in that moment, I made myself a promise…I would not be in that wheelchair for another graduation. Today, every step I take means something different. Lupus takes so much, your strength, your energy, your confidence, sometimes even pieces of your identity. But by the grace of God, it did not take my fight. This journey has been painful, humbling, and exhausting…but it has also shown me just how resilient I really am.
