Foster Care Awareness Month will always hit different for me…because it’s not just something I advocate for, it’s something that changed our entire life. We met Princeton ”Boosie Lou” when he was just 3 days old in the NICU. Three days. Still so tiny. Still fighting. Still brand new to this world. And I remember walking in not knowing what to expect…but somehow, deep down, feeling like God had already written a story we hadn’t even read yet. What was supposed to be temporary…what was supposed to be “just fostering”…turned into forever.
There’s something about holding a baby that small, that vulnerable, and realizing that love doesn’t wait on biology. It doesn’t ask for permission. It just shows up. Fully. Deeply. Unconditionally. Boosie didn’t grow under my heart…but he grew in it. And that love? It’s just as real, just as fierce, just as unbreakable.
