FUN FACT FRIDAY: Did you know the Interactive Children’s Fountain in Centennial Park is cleaned and serviced every month? 💦 This week, Public Works Municipal Service Worker Pat Roy was down in the vault recovering lost toys, removing leaves and debris, and checking the filters and pumps. 🥏 The fountain uses approximately 1,200 gallons of water that is tested 365 days a year — including weekends and holidays — to ensure the water meets pool-quality standards and remains free of bacteria. Three large pumps keep the fountain flowing. One runs 24/7 to filter, chlorinate, and recycle 80% of the water, while the other two power the interactive water features. Public Works staff who service the fountain are certified Public Swimming Pool Technicians and help keep this beloved fountain clean, safe, and splashing year-round. 🌊 #FunFactFriday #childrensfountain #splashpad
