This morning, our community came together in remembrance through two meaningful tributes.
The day began at 7:30 AM, when members of the Oxford Fire Department, joined by Mr. Rhodes from Oxford High School, participated in a 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at Lamar Field. They climbed the steps 37 times, representing the 110 flights that first responders bravely faced in the Twin Towers.
At 10 AM, community members, city staff and officials, Oxford Health Systems, the Oxford Police Department, the Oxford Fire Department, and many dedicated citizens gathered at Liberty Park to honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001, those who have since passed as a result of that tragedy, and the recent lives lost across our nation. Together, we remember every life, honor our country, and pray for peace for all. 🙏
