⚠️CONTENT WARNING: THIS POST CONTAINS GRAPHIC IMAGES OF SHARKS BEING KILLED⚠️⁣ ⁣ While you're reading this, longliner fishing vessels are silently hooking and hauling sharks and other marine animals from the high seas in the Convergence Zone of the Canary and Guinea Currents near West Africa. ⁣ ⁣ During one session, our Greenpeace ship crew documented a single vessel capturing 32 sharks over 11 hours. That’s an average of 3 sharks per hour. ⁣ ⁣ Once caught, these predators, vital to ocean health, don’t stand a chance against floating slaughterhouses, with lines sometimes stretching up to 100 kilometres. ⁣ ⁣ But there is a solution: Governments can use the Global Ocean Treaty to create sanctuaries.
