On Friday afternoon, Columbia community members gathered in Speakers Circle for a rally hosted by LiUNA Local 955 and Mizzou Students for Justice in Palestine. The rally attendees advocated for higher wages, divestment from war manufacturing and reinvestment into Mizzou’s student organizations. “The university (administration) forgets who actually makes Mizzou,” Columbia City Council member Vera Elwood said in a speech. “Because our workers make Mizzou … Our students and our student organizations, no matter what Mizzou says, make Mizzou. We make Mizzou. And so we must stand together and show them today.” Read at the link in our bio.
