MOYNIHAN AND CHAMPAGNE FINISH RUNNER-UP AT CIF-SS PAIRS TOURNEY: Seniors Sara Moynihan and Emma Champagne of the jserra.beachvolleyball team put the finishing touches on their decorated careers with a Division 1 runner-up finish at the CIF-SS Individual Pairs Tournament on Thursday at the Southside Pier Beach Volleyball Courts in Huntington Beach. Moynihan and Champagne (the No. 2 seeded team in the Division) began their day of competition with a spirited quarterfinals showdown against senior teammates Skylar Noble and Presley Johnson (the No. 10 seeded duo). Moynihan and Champagne claimed the first set 21-10, but Noble and Johnson fought back in an entertaining, high-level second set. Moynihan and Champagne fought off three set point chances, but Noble and Johnson closed out the fourth opportunity for a 25-23 win to tie the match at 1-1.
