LIONS DUOS ADVANCE AT CIF-SS PAIRS TOURNEY: It was a successful opening day for the senior duos of Sara Moynihan and Emma Champagne, along with Presley Johnson and Skylar Noble of the JSerra Girls Beach Volleyball team on the opening day of the CIF-SS Individual Pairs Tournament at the Southside Pier Beach Volleyball Courts in Huntington Beach. Moynihan and Champagne started the day by winning their Pool 2 battles with Charlotte Booth and Emery Heal of Pacifica Christian (28-11), Abby McIntyre and Stella Shandalove of Estancia (28-9), and Audrey Copeland and Breanna Rushlow of Great Oak (28-10). Moynihan and Champagne (the No. 2 seeded duo in the 32-team Division 1 bracket) defeated Makenzie Granum and Kylie Smart of San Clemente (21-9, 21-7), and Kira Elliott and Lola Heckman of Santa Barbara (21-14, 21-12) to start single elimination bracket play.
