A Portland police officer is under internal investigation after fleeing an off-duty shooting in Hood River in January without reporting it. Diego Ortiz Hernandez never called 911 or contacted local police. He also never informed his supervisors about the violent confrontation – until Hood River homicide investigators showed up at the Portland Police Bureau to interview him, according to the videotaped interview obtained by The Oregonian/OregonLive.
