This is something I’ve been working on as I navigate health issues that have completely changed the way I move through life. After more than 12 years of symptoms, I was finally diagnosed with endometriosis, and the past year and a half has been a blur of doctor’s appointments, scans, MRIs, blood work, ER visits, medications, heating pads, lifestyle changes, and trying to function while silently dealing with chronic pain, inflammation, fatigue, and fear. I’ve been in survival mode trying to understand what’s been happening to my body. One of the hardest parts has been relearning my relationship with my body in my 30s. Relearning how I move, how I function, and how I look at myself in the mirror. Fitness and movement have always been a huge part of my life, but this version of fitness looks very different from the one I once knew. No more high-intensity workouts. No more running.
