Metra trains on the Union Pacific North line were halted Thursday afternoon after a train struck a trailer carrying a cold milling machine near the Wilmette station.⁠ ⁠ Around 2:46 p.m., UP-N train #337, scheduled to arrive at Kenosha at 3:45 p.m., was stopped after striking the vehicle, Metra said.⁠ ⁠ All trains in the area were stopped after the crash until further notice, Metra said.⁠ ⁠ "The duration of this delay is unknown but may be extensive," Metra said on its website.
