Phoenix police say a person passed away near the I-10/I-17 interchange Wednesday evening, leading to major freeway closures and heavy traffic delays across the area. According to authorities, the incident happened around 8 p.m. near the eastbound lanes of I-10 after the person reportedly jumped from an overpass. Officials say several vehicles may have been involved afterward, and DPS is now investigating possible hit-and-run circumstances connected to the incident. As of Wednesday night: • Eastbound I-10 at the Stack was shut down • The northbound I-17 transition ramp was also closed • Drivers were being diverted onto southbound I-17 There was no estimated reopening time announced Wednesday night.
