A former Phoenix police officer has been sentenced to prison after being convicted in a case involving abuse of two women.
Michael Feliciano Martinez was sentenced to 1.5 years in prison after pleading guilty to two felony counts of abuse as part of a plea agreement. He was also given credit for time already served.
Once released, officials say he will be placed on 10 years of probation and may be required to register as an offender.
Martinez was previously arrested in 2022 and later resigned from the Phoenix Police Department following the investigation.
Authorities say he was also among the last known individuals to have contact with a woman connected to a separate homicide case, though he has not been charged in that investigation.
