An Arizona driver who said he was late for work ended up taking a much bigger detour than expected.
According to DPS, a state trooper spotted the driver on Loop 101 using the shoulder to get around traffic while trying to make it to his shift.
He was pulled over in a nearby parking lot — where he told the trooper his shift was about to start in just a few minutes.
But a quick check made things worse.
Authorities say the driver’s license was suspended, and he had a prior stop for driving over 100 MPH.
Instead of clocking in, the driver was arrested for reckless driving and driving on a suspended license.
He was taken to jail, and his vehicle was impounded for 20 days.
Safe to say… being a few minutes late might’ve been the better option.
What would you have done in that situation?
