Greece is moving further toward a fully traceable economy. Under the proposed rules, transactions above €500 would need to be made electronically, while rent payments become increasingly tied to the banking system. Governments say it’s about: • fighting tax evasion • modernising the economy • increasing transparency Critics ask: • where does financial privacy end? • what happens during bank outages? • what happens when every transaction can be monitored, restricted, or controlled? This isn’t “cash disappearing tomorrow.” But it is another step toward a more digitised financial system across Europe.
