Thursday Thoughts — It Was Never About Performance “For by grace you have been saved through faith… it is the gift of God, not a result of works.” – Ephesians 2:8–9 One of the most powerful lines in The Blood says: “It’s never been about performance, perfection, or striving for acceptance.” What a freeing reminder. So often we live like we have something to prove—to God, to others, even to ourselves. We try harder, do more, and carry the weight of thinking we have to earn love that Jesus already freely gave. But the Gospel tells a different story. The cross already settled it. Grace was never something we achieve—it’s something we receive. Because of Jesus, we don’t serve, worship, or obey to gain acceptance.
