My athletes always ask me “how do you know what pace to run in your race”. To me, it’s pretty simple. If you’re well trained, you should know the feeling of your “race pace”. That’s the point of training right? I have never worn a watch in my race because in my opinion, it’s kind of pointless. It doesn’t work in the venue for starters, and also… If you saw a pace on your watch slower than what you had planned for but you’re going as hard as you can - what’s that going to do to your mental state when you’re already hurting. And on the flip side, if you felt good and could push harder than the pace you had planned, would you really slow down? Short answer: follow a structured training program (I got you covered here - check out my programs) and dial into your race effort in training - that’s how you know what pace to go in a race! • #jkhybridcoaching #hyroxcoach #hyroxpacing
