Over 300 people were found D€∆D in southern Doña Ana County, New Mexico during Sheriff Kim Stewart’s tenure.
The majority were identified as women and teenage girls.
Again and again, these d€∆ths were treated as routine.
Women found side by side. Women found repeatedly in the same locations. Case after case ruled simply as “exposure.”
Meanwhile:
— remains were reported and left unrecovered
— sites labeled “recovered” still contained human remains
— volunteers encountered hostility and false public claims
— the public received little warning, little transparency, and little urgency
Five hours north, New Mexico launched a multimillion-dollar truth commission tied to Zorro Ranch and Jeffrey Epstein.
Meanwhile, in southern New Mexico, hundreds d|€d west of El Paso with little public scrutiny and almost no national attention.
This is what normalization looks like.
The issue is not only d€∆th. The issue is normalization.
We refuse normalization.
