Her Legacy | Episode 26 An exceptional amateur who went on to shine on the LPGA Tour. Lauren Howe burst onto the national stage as a teenager, winning the 1975 CWGA Junior Match Play and the CWGA Stroke Play Championship at just 16 years old. Her amateur success continued with victories in the 1976 Mexican Women’s Amateur and the 1977 Women’s Western Amateur. In 1978, Howe became the youngest LPGA Q-School champion, setting a scoring record that stood for more than 20 years. She later spent 13 years on the LPGA Tour, capturing her first professional victory at the 1983 Mayflower Classic. Since 1991, Howe has continued to influence the game as a respected instructor.
