Today, Florida A&M University and Duke Energy celebrated the unveiling of the Rattler Renewable Energy Center in Hernando County, a solar energy site built on 800 acres leased through a partnership with FAMU. The project represents innovation, stewardship, and long-term impact, with an estimated $250 million in customer savings over the site’s operational lifetime. More importantly, it reflects what can happen when education, industry, and community move in the same direction. As President Marva B. Johnson, J.D. shared, this partnership is about creating infrastructure and opportunity that will serve generations to come.
