explained ⬇️⬇️⬇️
Depression can feel like drowning….
Like you’re fighting to keep your head above water every single day.
You finally come up for air, finally catch one deep breath, and for a moment you think maybe you’re okay again… only to be pulled back under before you’re ready.
It’s exhausting.
People on the outside might wonder why you can’t just “swim normally,” why simple things feel impossible, why getting through the day takes so much energy. But when you’re constantly trying not to sink, survival becomes the only thing you can focus on.
The waves come and go, and sometimes just when you think you’ve found steady ground, the water rises again.
But if this is how you feel right now, please hear this:
This does not last forever.
Even if your mind is telling you otherwise. Even if you’ve been treading water for so long that you can’t remember what peace feels like. There are people who can help you learn how to breathe again. People who will sit beside you in the water...
