“Behold, these are but the outskirts of his ways, and how small a whisper do we hear of him! But the thunder of his power who can understand?”” -Job 26:14
We see the hand of God and the works of the LORD all around us: in creation, in each other, in signs and wonders, in answered prayers, in our salvation. We have seen Him keep His promises perfectly, display His great love and mercy, thunder His judgment and triumph over evil. And yet, even this is not the fullness. Creation shouts its reflection of God’s beauty and power, but it is not the height, nor the depth, nor the measure of who God is and what He does. It is but a part. A glimpse. The outskirt edge of something far greater than what is seen.
What lies beyond our sight is not empty, but full beyond measure. What we can observe carries weight and beauty indeed, but it is a fragment. If just this much is enough to humble us, what must the fullness be like? What must the depth of His power and wisdom be, beyond what we can trace...
