But some of the best shots happen when you stop trying to avoid obstacles and start using them. Shooting through the stands, railings, fences, or people in the foreground can completely change the feeling of a clip and make the viewer feel like they’re actually there watching the match unfold. I’ve been trying to push myself to find angles that feel more immersive and cinematic instead of just documenting the action. Sometimes the “imperfect” shot ends up being the one that feels the most real.
