A WHO official has moved to reassure the public after a cluster of hantavirus cases emerged on a cruise ship docked in the Canary Islands, saying the average person has no reason to be alarmed. Dr. Boris Pavlin, Team Lead for Field and Humanitarian Epidemiology, WHO, stressed that hantavirus is not a new virus and that it has been known for decades, with a major outbreak in the United States in 1993 and well-documented cases in Argentina and Chile. Pavlin also again stated that hantavirus “is not Covid’. "If it were Covid, we would have seen it explode long, long ago,"Pavlin told CGTN’s Ken Browne. #Hantavirus #Tenerife #CanaryIslands #WHO #PublicHealth #WorldNews #BreakingNews #Health #CruiseShip #Spain
