‘I didn’t know anything about cows!’ 🐮
For registered nurse Emma, moving from coastal living to the outback was quite an adjustment. 🦘
Originally from Brisbane, Emma completed her nursing degree in 2003. She worked in major hospitals including the Princess Alexandra Hospital and Redland Hospital before moving with her husband to the rural town of Cloncurry.
‘I didn’t know what a governess was. I didn’t know what a ringer was,’ she said.
‘It’s been a big learning curve... even country fashion took some getting used to.’
But after working for almost six years in the Cloncurry Multipurpose Health Service, Emma hasn’t looked back. ❤️
‘You see such a broad range of things. No day is ever the same. It’s new patients, new people, new things you’re learning all the time,’ she said.
‘If you did the same thing every day for 20 years, it would get boring, but this never is.’
