2-year-old child dies after being pulled from the Ottawa River Friday evening 😨💔🕊️ Ottawa police say officers were called to the area near the Kichi Zībī Mīkan Parkway just before 7 PM after reports that a child was missing nearby. When officers arrived, the child could not be located, triggering a large coordinated emergency search involving Ottawa Police officers, the Marine Dive Team, tactical units, and assistance from Gatineau police. Roughly 40 minutes later, the child was located in the Ottawa River by the Ottawa Police Air Support Unit and pulled from the water. First responders immediately began life-saving resuscitation efforts before the child was rushed to hospital. Tragically, the child was later pronounced deceased.
