A video from Ottawa’s Bayshore area appears to show a group of young men confronting people who had allegedly parked in a walkway/grass area near residential homes, a spot meant for pedestrians and not vehicles.
Residents in some neighbourhoods say this kind of thing happens more often than people think, especially in dense or lower income areas where some drivers will pull up as close to their unit as possible to quickly load or unload items.
The issue is that repeated parking like this can damage grass, sidewalks, and shared community property meant for everyone.
In this case, the young men allegedly claimed the people involved were drunk and didn’t know where they were, which appears to have added to the tension.
